Sessions and Fees
Morning Sessions
Children can start at the nursery once they are two years old. The morning sessions are for 2 year olds, younger 3 year olds and a limited number of rising 4 year olds and above
Rising 4 year olds and above attending the morning session must be attending nursery for the full day.
Afternoon sessions
We offer afternoon only sessions for older children (rising 4 and above) who are due to start full-time school next September plus a limited number of younger children who are staying for a full day.
2 year olds attending the afternoon session must be attending nursery for the full day.
Full Day Sessions
We offer a limited number of places of full day sessions each day for all ages.
Our full day session is from 9am to 3.15pm (6 hours and 15 minutes).
All sessions are planned around the children's interests as they 'learn through play'. Children will choose activities and resources with staff enhancing the experience to extend their learning. We will also provide adult-led activities to give children the opportunity to learn something new and progress their knowledge and understanding. Activities will be structured so that all children can achieve and make progress at their particular age and stage of development.
Lunch
Children attending full day and afternoon sessions will need to bring a packed lunch.
The nursery does not provide food, other than a mid-morning snack.
Staff Ratios
As is statutory we have a ratio of one member of staff for every group of four two year olds,
and one staff member for eight three year olds.

Who gets the grant?
From the term† after your child's 3rd birthday they are eligible to receive the Universal Education Grant. Children can be funded either with universal entitlement (15 hours) or the working parents grant (30 hours). You can check what you are entitled to at Oxfordshire County Council.
The grant covers the whole term. If the grant is available for your child we will give you a form to fill in. This will indicate the number of sessions for which you wish to claim funding through Cumnor Pre-school Nursery. You should also state on the form whether you wish to claim funding for some sessions through another nursery/daycare provider. The government will then provide us with the normal rate for any sessions which you wish to claim.
Some families with two year olds are eligible for 15 hours of free early education through the Disadvantaged 2 year olds entitlement or the Working Parents Grant. You may be informed of this by the County Council. If not please contact the Nursery for more information or visit the Oxfordshire County Council webpages (Please note this funding is only available the term after your child's second birthday, see below as for three year olds.)
†For the purpose of grant eligibility, terms are considered to be September to December, January to March and April to August.
