About Us

We are a small and welcoming community nursery established in the 1960s. Our aim is to provide the highest possible standard of nursery care and education.

The nursery is located within the grounds of Cumnor Primary School in the heart of Cumnor village, surrounded by open fields in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. We are a separate organisation from the School but with close links. However there is no formal catchment area and the nursery happily accepts children who will eventually go on to attend a different local primary school.

We offer part-time pre-school education for children aged two to four years. Children can start at the nursery after their second birthday. All ages may attend mornings only or full-day depending on availability. Afternoon only sessions are available for our oldest children. Full details are available on the ‘Admissions’ page.

The majority of our staff are qualified to Level 3 or above in nursery education, and the team has a wealth of experience, and is committed to the welfare and development of every child.

Cumnor Pre-School is a registered charity managed entirely by a voluntary committee of parents, which aims to provide excellent nursery care for the benefit of local parents at a reasonable cost. Nursery fees cover staff salaries and some day to day expenses whilst the acquisition of learning materials and equipment is met by fundraising.

We are pleased to announce that we were rated 'GOOD' by Ofsted in June 2024. Please see Ofsted's report page on us
